The new clubhouse, next to the playground
The idea
Every good neighborhood has a place where things happen. A room big enough for a wedding reception. A porch for a birthday party. A kitchen for a chili cook-off. Somewhere kids can have a dance and grown-ups can have a meeting.
We have a clubhouse. We'd like a great one.
The plan
- Two stories, built right, next to the playground where the neighborhood already gathers.
- A big room for weddings, receptions, holiday parties, and community meetings.
- A real kitchen so we can feed people.
- Outdoor space that connects to the playground and, we hope, the water.
- Kept up properly, so it's something we're proud to show off, not something we apologize for.
Why it matters
This isn't just about having a nicer building. A neighborhood with a real gathering place is a neighborhood where people know each other. And a neighborhood where people know each other is a lot harder to overlook.
When neighbors see each other every week, they show up for each other. They notice when something changes. They speak up together. The clubhouse is how we build that.
How we'll pay for it
We're working on it. Grants, fundraisers, and partnerships are all on the table. We'll post updates here as the plan takes shape. If you have experience with any of this, or you just want to help, we'd love to hear from you.
